Over two years she has been with us.
Every school year and every summer. And not only here, she has been working hard and with the greatest of attitudes. And sometimes that is all you need.
And of course, a little bit of Hope Extreme.
Emily’s mom speaks only Spanish. It’s hard when your language is different from everyone else’s around you and every lesson, homework assignment, and test is in a language that you don’t speak or understand. But her mom heard that there was a program located in her neighborhood that could help so she and several ladies signed their kids into Hope Extreme. In our broken Spanish we told her of the requirements of attendance, summer education, and behavior and she eagerly agreed to do whatever it takes to help her daughter be successful. So, Emily showed up day after day to work and learn. Any chance we had we would pull her out so that she could sit one on one with tutors that would help her learn the language and her studies.
Everyone that came across her path instantly fell in LOVE.
She just has that kind of personality.
And just last week for the first time ever she pulled out her report card with a giant SMILE on her face. Ms. Tara, Ms. Tara, I made the AB honor roll, I get to go to the awards program. And that SMILE makes everything worth it. Because Emily has tasted success and we can’t wait for her to continue in her studies and have that smile every nine weeks for years to come. Thank you for your support and helping Emily’s dreams come true in 2019.
